J/GA’s design for Marc Jacobs’ first freestanding building recently won two prestigious design awards. The project received a 2011 Award of Excellence from the New York State Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, as well as a 2011 American Architecture Award from the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design. This marks the building’s second recognition from the New York State AIA. The building also received a 2010 Award of Excellence as an unbuilt project still under construction.

The project will be exhibited at two corresponding exhibitions: the AIA’s Tri-State Conference in Atlantic City, NJ (September 21-23) and the “The City and the World” in Buenos Aires (October) – The Chicago Athenaeum’s annual symposium with The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
