JAKLITSCH / GARDNER ARCHITECTS IS AWARDED CONTRACT FOR DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION EXCELLENCE 2.0 PROGRAM

A New York City program committed to the design of public buildings that promote equity, sustainability, resiliency, and design for healthy living


The New York City Department of Design & Construction (DDC) announced on October 18, 2016 that it had selected Jaklitsch / Gardner Architects for its newly updated Design and Construction Excellence 2.0 Program. DDC’s public works projects are governed by aspirations of excellence and equity. The design and construction of new buildings and/or major renovations will contribute a vision of the City’s growth that fosters sustainability, resilience, equity, and healthy living goals. Capital upgrades and improvements to buildings will strengthen and protect the architectural legacy and character of our City’s neighborhoods using contemporary standards for safety and environmental durability.

Jaklitsch / Gardner Architects is one of twenty-six firms awarded a 3-year contract to respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for design services for DDC projects where construction costs are projected to be $50 million or under.
